This Email was a blessing:
Had to share it with you!!!

A Birth Certificate shows that we were born
A Death Certificate shows that we died
Pictures show that we lived!

Have a seat . . .. Relax . . . And read this slowly.

I Believe...
That just because two people argue,
It doesn't mean they don't love each other.
And just because they don't argue,
It doesn't mean they do love each other.

I Believe...
That we don't have to change friends if
we understand that friends change.

I Believe...
That no matter how good a friend is, they're going to
hurt you every once in a while and you must forgive
them for that.

I Believe...
That true friendship continues to grow, even over the
longest distance. Same goes for true love.

I Believe....
That you can do something in an instant
That will give you heartache for life..

I Believe...
That it's taking me a long time
to become the person I want to be.

I Believe...
That you should always leave loved ones with
loving words. It may be the last time you see them.

I Believe...
That you can keep going long after you think you can't.

I Believe...
That we are responsible for what
we do, no matter how we feel.

I Believe...
That either you control your attitude or it controls you.

I Believe....
That heroes are the people who do what has to be done
when it needs to be done, regardless of the consequences.

I Believe.....
That money is a lousy way of keeping score.

I Believe...
That my best friend and I, can do anything, or nothing and
have the best time.

I Believe....
That sometimes the people you expect to kick you when you're
down, will be the ones to help you get back up.

I Believe....
That sometimes when I'm angry I have the right to be angry,
but that doesn't give me the right to be cruel.

I Believe...
That maturity has more to do with what types of experiences
you've had, and what you've learned from them and less to
do with how many birthdays you've celebrated.

I Believe...
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.

I Believe...
That no matter how bad your heart is broken the world
doesn't stop for your grief.

I Believe...
That our background and circumstances may have influenced
who we are, but, we are responsible for who we become.

I Believe...
That you shouldn't be so eager to find out a secret.
It could change your life forever.

I Believe...
Two people can look at the exact same
thing, and see something totally different.

I Believe...
That your life can be changed in a matter of
hours by people who don't even know you.

I Believe....
That even when you think you have no more to give,
when a friend cries out to you - you will find the
strength to help.

I Believe...
That credentials on the wall do not make you a decent
human being.

I Believe...
That the people you care about most in life are taken from
you too soon.

'The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of
everything; They just make the most of everything.

I really enjoyed this email I received today

and wanted to share it with all my sisters out

there-

A young wife sat on a sofa on a hot humid day,
drinking iced tea and visiting with her mother. As
they talked about life, about marriage, about the
responsibilities of life and the obligations of
adulthood, the mother clinked the ice cubes in her
glass thoughtfully and turned a clear, sober glance
upon her daughter..

'Don't forget your sisters,' she advised, swirling
the tea leaves to the bottom of her glass. 'They'll
be more important as you get older. No matter how
much you love your husband, no matter how much you
love the children you may have, you are still going
to need sisters. Remember to go places with them now
and then; do things with them..'

'Remember that 'sisters' means ALL the women...
your girlfriends, your daughters, and all your other
women relatives too. 'You'll need other women. Women
always do.'

What a funny piece of advice!' the young woman
thought. Haven't I just gotten married?
Haven't I just joined the couple-world? I'm now a
married woman, for goodness sake! A grownup! Surely
my husband and the family we may start will be all I
need to make my life worthwhile!'

But she listened to her mother. She kept contact
with her sisters and made more women friends each
year. As the years tumbled by, one after another,
she gradually came to understand that her mother really
knew what she was talking about. As time and nature
work their changes and their mysteries upon a woman,
sisters are the mainstays of her life..

After more than 50 years of living in this world,
here is what I've learned:

THIS SAYS IT ALL:

Time passes.
Life happens.
Distance separates.
Children grow up.
Jobs come and go.
Love waxes and wanes.
Men don't do what they're supposed to do.
Hearts break.
Parents die.
Colleagues forget favors.
Careers end.
BUT.........

Sisters are there, no matter how much time and how
many miles are between you. A girl friend is never

farther away than needing her can reach.

When you have to walk that lonesome valley and you
have to walk it by yourself, the women in your life
will be on the valley's rim, cheering you on,
praying for you, pulling for you, intervening on
your behalf, and waiting with open arms at the
valley's end..

Sometimes, they will even break the rules and walk
beside you...Or come in and carry you out.

Girlfriends, daughters, granddaughters,
daughters-in-law, sisters, sisters-in-law, Mothers,
Grandmothers, aunties, nieces, cousins, and extended
family: all bless our life!

The world wouldn't be the same without women, and
neither would I. When we began this adventure called
womanhood, we had no idea of the incredible joys or
sorrows that lay ahead. Nor did we know how much we
would need each other..

I just had to share this inspirational email I got today........ hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

The Lesson of the Morning Glory!

I planted seeds in my little garden this year. I have never planted seeds before, because I am not a very patient person, and waiting for the little green shoots to rise above the ground, was just too much for me. But this year, I thought I would give it a try. I thought it would be a good metaphor for me, to plant something and watch it grow, much as I have many times, planted thoughts, dreams and affirmations and watched many of them become a reality.

And so, in the Spring of this year, I planted my garden. I chose many types of flowers and among them, Morning Glories. Within a month, many of the other flowers were bursting through the earth, but not the Morning Glories.

Each morning, I would run outside to check on them, and nothing, nothing for several weeks more. I was about to give up on them. I was sure that they just did not 'take' so to speak. But finally, it happened! They had broken through the earth, and were starting to climb. And climb, and climb, and climb, they did....with their big, beautiful, heart shaped leaves.

And so, the saga continued, nothing for weeks and weeks and weeks but more and more beautiful leaves. And I thought to myself, "Well, leaves are nice, but that is all I will probably get at this point." And then, one fine and glorious morning, there it was, the most beautiful sky-blue morning glory I have ever seen!!! It seemed like a miracle to me. I had waited over 3 months for this one delicate, funnel-shaped flower to show up and now here it was, in all its splendor.

It reminded me of just how many times I had waited in life for something I had longed for, and how incredible it felt when it finally arrived, and also, how many times, that I had wanted to throw in the towel, and just give up.

But I wasn't prepared for what was to happen next, with these little flowers, and I was surprised and deeply saddened by it.

Roses and geraniums and daisies and most other flowers bloom and stay around for a while, but not Morning Glories. Morning Glories open themselves up to the world, in the morning, in all of their glory, hence the name, Morning Glory.

And if you look closely at them, you will see how extraordinary they are, both in colour and texture, and that in their centre, is a kind of golden light that shines from within.

But here is the hard part... At the end of the day, they turn a most beautiful shade of lavender, and then close up, wither and die. They live for only one day, and then they are gone. I cannot tell you how much this saddened me, and what a profound effect this little flower had upon my life. I kept thinking how sad to be so beautiful and live for only one day. And then, I suddenly realized what a gift they were.

You see, it doesn't matter how long your life is. It only matters that you were here, in all your glory, that you opened up completely, and let your light shine, and that you brought joy to those who came into contact with you. That's what matters to the morning glory, and that's what really matters to all of us.

The morning glories make me appreciate every new day now, in a way I didn't before. Each evening, I go and visit with them, knowing those particular ones won't be here tomorrow, new ones will take their place. If we knew when we woke up in the morning, that we only had that one day to really live, life would be very different indeed for many of us.

Now, each morning, I give thanks that I have been given the gift of another day, in all its glory. We can learn from all of life, if we remain open to the beauty that is all around us. And nature can be one of our greatest teachers.

What a profound lesson from such a simple flower.

Thank you, my sweet little morning glories!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MALYNDA!!!
Love & Miss you

Saturday, May 09, 2009

Well, like the photo says... someone has to go- with all the postal job cuts and cutbacks- my position was cut and I will soon be without a job... I could agonize and panic... or I could go with my gut feeling that there is something exciting coming and change can be a good thing. "I think I'll take #2 Alex"....

Think about it, if we focus on the negative, we attract negative to us. If we focus on positive - we attract positive to our lives. I am contemplative and wondering... I am open to changes and new possibilities. Please add your positive energy with mine and let's see where this goes....

For the blind the poster says "The financial crisis is forcing companies to make tough decisions, there is a risk the we might need to lay off Andre'... " (That's my work name lol)

Some people have trouble with all those 'shalls' and
'shall not's' in the Ten commandments.
Folks just aren't used to talking in those terms..
So, some folks got together and translated the
'King James' into 'County' language.....
No joke, read on... The Hillbilly's Ten Commandments
(posted on the wall at First Baptist Church in Summersville , West Virginia )
......
(1) Just one God
(2) Put nothin' before God
(3) Watch yer mouth
(4) Git yourself to Sunday meetin'
(5) Honor yer Ma &Pa
(6) No killin'
(7) No foolin' around with another fellow's gal
(8) Don't take what ain't yers
(9) No tellin' tales or gossipin'
(10) Don't be hankerin' of yer buddy's stuff
Now that's kinda plain an' simple, don't ya think?

DO NOT ASK THE LORD TO GUIDE YOUR FOOTSTEPS IF YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO MOVE YOUR FEET!!!

Today I will make a difference.

I will begin by controlling my thoughts. A person is the product of his thoughts. I want to be happy and hopeful. Therefore, I will have thoughts that are happy and hopeful.

Today I will make a difference.

I refuse to be victimized by my circumstances. I will not let petty inconveniences such as stoplights, long lines, and traffic jams be my masters. I will avoid negativism and gossip. Optimism will be my companion, and victory will be my hallmark.

Today I will make a difference.

I will be grateful for the twenty-four hours that are before me. Time is a precious commodity. I refuse to allow what little time I have to be contaminated by self-pity, anxiety, or boredom. I will face this day with the joy of a child and the courage of a giant. I will drink each minute as though it is my last. When tomorrow comes, today will be gone forever. While it is here, I will use it for loving and giving.

Today I will make a difference.

I will not let past failures haunt me. Even though my life is scarred with mistakes, I refuse to rummage through my trash heap of failures. I will admit them. I will correct them. I will press on. Victoriously. No failure is fatal. It's OK to stumble...I will get up. It's OK to fail...I will rise again.

Today I will make a difference.

I will spend time with those I love. My spouse, my children, my family. A man can own the world but be poor for the lack of love. A man can own nothing and yet be wealthy in relationships. Today I will spend at least five minutes with the significant people in my world. Five quality minutes of talking or hugging or thanking or listening. Five undiluted minutes with my mate, children, and friends.

Today I will make a difference.

Max Lucado

Not much new... just being the "Boss"
while the Boss is away for a month.

Keeping busy working almost daily...
Weather is finally warming up a bit.

Talked with Chris B. and his GF Lori the other day.
They sound good, but like most of us
concerned about the economy and their finances.
Fortunately John and Mary are both still working and
making ends meet, even if it's not easy.

Tawny tells us that her baby is going to be a boy-
due I think in April.

Josh is still in the military and is to be
married in June this year.
That's all the latest.
Will "report" in when there's new news.
Best to ya'll.... Remember this:

Christian performer comes to Eureka

The Times-Standard

EUREKA -- The Eureka First Assembly of God will be the setting as Christian recording artist, songwriter and comedian Mark Lowry brings the “Be the Miracle” tour to the North Coast at 6 p.m. Jan. 24.
Joining Lowry on this musical tour will be master pianist Stan Whitmire.
Lowry has spent the past 25 years on the road full time and has recorded six comedy and music videos, four of which have reached gold status with two additional recordings achieving platinum recognition. He has been featured on more than 60 of the popular Gaither Homecoming Videos, and his own video, “On Broadway,” went to the top of the Billboard Charts after its release.
”There's something for everyone at any event hosted by Mark Lowry,” said Gary Gentry, president of Premier Productions which is bringing Lowry to Eureka. “Obviously the music is Christian based, but there's a lot of variety ... there's great music, comedy and thought-provoking insight, as Mark shares from his heart. It's always fresh and exciting."
The underlying theme of the “Be The Miracle Tour,” according to Lowry, is a challenging and inspiring message to all who attend.

”The challenge is that each individual should strive to be the miracle in the lives of others,” Lowry said. “We shouldn't just wait for God to do something miraculous. We should be willing to extend ourselves as the feet and hands of Christ and actually be the miracle in someone's life.”

Ticket prices are $16.50 in advance for adults or $18.50 at the door; $14.50 for children; $14.50 for group tickets; and $14.50 for seniors. Kathy and I went to see "Marley and Me" last night.

All in all a cute homespun family show that will make you exasperated and frustrated, and then make you cry. It is a sweet slow moving fun movie. Aniston surprised me and Owen made me very glad he's still around. Both of them showed they are truly good actors.

Very sweet, worth watching. It's not a shoot'em up action packed movie, but a meandering through the years story of a dog and his family. Enjoy!

Attitude

There once was a woman who woke up one morning, looked in the mirror, and noticed she had only three hairs on her head. 'Well,' she said, 'I think I'll braid my hair today.' So she did, and she had a wonderful day.

The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and saw that she had only two hairs on her head. 'H-M-M,' she said, 'I think I'll part my hair down the middle today.' So she did, and she had a grand day.

The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and noticedthat she had only one hair on her head.'Well,' she said, 'today I'm goingto wear my hair in a pony tail.' So she did, and she had a fun, fun day.

The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and noticed that there wasn't a single hair on her head. 'YAY!' she exclaimed. 'I don't have to fix my hair today!'

Attitude is everything.

Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

Live simply, Love generously, Care deeply, Speak kindly...
